  7. Disk Player 1.0s is shareware. Use and evaluate Disk Player for 30 days
  8. free of charge. If you wish to keep Disk Player, all we ask is that you
  9. forward $9.95US and the registration form to Innovative Technologies of
  10. Austin at the address given below.

  12. Feel free to pass Disk Player along to your friends and
  13. coworkers. Be sure to include all the components of Disk Player
  14. including register.txt as well as this file, readme.txt.
  15.  
  16. Disk Player requires a Windows 3.1 MPC compatible PC with MPC sound card
  17. MPC CD ROM drive using MSCDEX version 2.2 or greater.
  18.  
  19. The necessary files for Disk Player are 
  20. dskplyr.exe
  21. bitbtndl.dll
  22. ftibmap.dll
  23. bwcc.dll
  24. lcdfont.fon
  25. ftifont.fon
  26. (~450Kbytes).
  27.  
  28. These files should be located in the same directory. The .fon and
  29. .dll files may also be put in your Windows directory.

  31. To Run Disk Player, doubleclick on dskplyr.exe from the File Manager
  32. window. You may also add dskplyr.exe to any new or existing program
  33. group in the Program Manager.

  44. Alarm Clock-
  45.  To set the CD to start playing at a specified time,
  46.     1) select 'Alarm Clock' from the Player Menu,
  47.     2) enter the hour and minute in the text boxes provided or use
  48.             the buttons next to each text box to advance the value
  49.             up or down.
  50.     3) set the alarm by placing the cursor over the check box
  51.             (located next to the words "Wake Time" in the lower half
  52.             of the Alarm Clock window) and clicking    the left mouse
  53.             button. A check will appear in the box when the alarm
  54.             is set.

  56. Program -
  57.  The program play feature has been disabled in this release of Disk
  58.  Player. However, All the user interface functions work, so you can
  59.  see how songs are selected and played. All registered users of
  60.  Disk Player receive a free copy which has program play enabled.
  61.  
  62.  To set Disk Player to play selected songs from a CD.
  63.  
  64.     1) Select 'Program' from the Player menu.
  65.         A dialog with 2 list boxes and 3 buttons will appear.
  66.         The upper list box, named Disk Tracks, lists the songs
  67.         on the CD in the drive. The second list box, named
  68.         Program Tracks, is initially empty. It contains the songs
  69.         selected to play.
  70.     2) To add a song to the Program Tracks list, select the song
  71.         from the Disk Tracks list box and press the Select button.
  72.         The song number and playing time will appear in the
  73.         Program Tracks list box.
  74.     3) The Program Tracks list can be cleared by pressing the
  75.         Clear button.
  76.     4) When all the song selections have been made, press the Ok
  77.         button.
  78.     5) Press the Play button in the Disk Player window. Disk Player
  79.         will play the programmed songs in the order in which they
  80.         were selected unless Disk Player is in the Random mode.
  81.         If Disk Player is in the Random mode, the songs will be
  82.         randomly selected from the Program Tracks list.

  87. If wish to keep Disk Player beyond the 30 day trial period, all we
  88. ask is that you register your copy of Disk Player for the nominal fee
  89. of $9.95US.

  91. In return for your honesty and support for the shareware idea,
  92. you will receive a free copy of Disk Player which has program play
  93. enabled as well as a host of other features.

  95. You will also get advance notice of upgrades to Disk Player.

  98. to all registered users of Disk Player. This includes free
  99. bug fixes as they become available.

  115.  The following is a list of known problems with Disk Player
  116.  including workarounds where possible:
  117.  
  118.  Eject does not work with Sound Blaster CD Upgrade Kit.
  119.  
  120.  MediaVision PAS+ MPC Upgrade Kit occasionally causes a hardware error
  121.  when trying to play. workaround - eject and reinsert disc, this
  122.  forces a hardware reset.
  123.  
  124.  Some controls may flicker on machines with slower video graphics
  125.  adapters. If you see this behavior please contact ITA so that we can
  126.  duplicate the problem on our machines.
